I learned to draw at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale) and prepared my portfolio for art school admission. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig until my intermediate diploma and completed my degree at the Berlin University of the Arts under Professor Joachim Sauter (digital media). He appointed me as his master student.

During my childhood, I went through a traumatic experience that I had repressed. Only after a seventeen-centimeter tumor was diagnosed in my abdomen was I able to integrate this experience into my consciousness. This is a prerequisite for healing from trauma.

According to Dr. Gabor Maté (trauma specialist), we live in a highly traumatized society. He states that trauma is unconscious (as it is usually stored in the subconscious) and is almost always passed on.

Individuals suffering from addiction, according to Dr. Maté, are attempting to cope with the pain of trauma and are destroying themselves.

It is my belief that the problem we humans currently face is that we are unconsciously passing our trauma on to Mother Earth, thereby destroying the foundation of our existence. Healing is part of our life's task. Only in this way can we survive as humanity.

Professor Dr. Hannes Neeff (chief physician), who operated on me, told me that I owe my recovery to an invisible force.

My photographs serve the purpose of connecting with this force that resides within us all. To heal.

I dedicate my work to this invisible energy, to which I owe my health. Amen.
